From back-to-school events to Mother’s Day giveaways and turkey distributions, our foundation has celebrated countless successes while fostering community spirit and resilience.

Board Members
Charleen Matos
President
Charleen Matos grew up in Allapatah, a small neighborhood in Miami, Florida. Facing a troubled childhood, she found herself in and out of trouble, including periods of incarceration. However, one pivotal moment changed her life forever. Upon her release from prison, Charleen made a resolute decision to transform her life and inspire others to do the same.
Determined to demonstrate that life can begin anew, she embraced her mission to help others overcome their own obstacles. Charleen believes that no matter the challenges we face, we can rise above and reach beyond the horizons.
With a deep commitment to giving back, Charleen organizes significant community giveaways at least three times a year, alongside monthly donations to the homeless, providing meals and essential support. Her unwavering passion for service and empowerment drives Beyond Horizons Foundation, as she works tirelessly to uplift and inspire those in need.
Miguel Charles
Vice President
Miguel Charles, the Vice President of Beyond Horizons Foundation, is a dedicated advocate for community service and empowerment. As Charleen’s only son, Miguel embodies a passionate, loving, and caring spirit. He has grown up witnessing the transformative power of giving back and is deeply committed to making a difference in the lives of others.
With a strong belief in the importance of community support, Miguel actively participates in various outreach initiatives. He is particularly focused on helping those in need, especially individuals transitioning from challenging circumstances. His compassionate approach drives him to engage with the community, ensuring that everyone feels valued and supported.
As Vice President, Miguel works closely with his mother, Charleen, to implement programs that provide essential resources, training, and mentorship. Together, they strive to create a positive impact, inspiring others to overcome obstacles and reach beyond their horizons.
